Who knew that Tootsie Rolls could give hope? The Knights of Columbus in Seneca has for years given out Tootsie Rolls during their Hope Campaign fundraising drive. Recently, the Seneca Middle School Special Education Department received a generous grant from the proceeds of that campaign which seeks to directly assist intellectually challenged individuals. Department Chair Stephanie Shepherd said of the donation, “We are so grateful to the Knights of Columbus for their generosity and support of our students each year. Their donations enable us to take our students on field trips, purchase prizes and rewards, and even supports a Christmas gift-wrapping service provided by a class for our faculty and staff. Not only do these activities offer them unique experiences but also provide them with wonderful life lessons.”
