The SMS Orchestra received the highest score at the SCMEA Concert Performance Assessment
Each year, middle school orchestras from across the region gather for the South Carolina Music Educators Association (SCMEA) Concert Performance Assessment Festival to be judged by a professional panel on their prepared concert and sight-reading skills. Every group has spent many weeks preparing for this all-important assessment and wishes to achieve a Superior rating – the top rating available. Not only did the Seneca Middle School Orchestra earn a Superior rating, as they have done each year for the past several years, but they also achieved the highest point total of all middle school orchestras at the festival.

The Seneca Middle School Orchestra is directed by Mr. David Warlick who said of their achievement, “I am extremely proud of this group. They are very talented, they listen well, and care very much about doing their best. Ultimately, they enjoy making music, which is the best part.” The Seneca Middle School Orchestra participants are: Camryn Bay, Luke Bleuel, Christopher Duran, Marcos Amador Flores, Ella Goitz, Isaiah Harvey, Keagen Hendricks, Chloe Hunter, Lyssia Jesmer, Emily Kelley, Hannah Leach, Jack Lee, Amy McKee, Payton Morris, Alicia Nicholson, Brandon Nixon, Shelby Orren, Elinor Owenby, Ruby Sam Prosser, Abigail Romero, Alexis Scruggs, Elizabeth Sharpe, Rachael Sharpe, Kamryn Speed, Kaydee Stanton, Nate Thorsland, Alexandria Winkler, and Katelyn Walters.
