Logan Wilson
It is impressive enough to be the most geographically knowledgeable in your entire school, but to be among the best in the state is even better. Such is the case for one Seneca Middle School student. Several weeks ago, seventh grader Logan Wilson won his school-wide geography bee, the first step on the path to the National GeoBee. He then, along with hundreds of other school-wide winners, took a written test to determine his eligibility to participate in the South Carolina State GeoBee. Logan recently learned he indeed scored among the top 100 of the qualifiers to earn a spot in the State GeoBee to be held on March 27 in West Columbia. There he will participate in a number of preliminary rounds and hopefully the final round to determine the statewide winner. Not only will the statewide winner earn a cash prize, but also a trip to Washington, DC for the national championship – the National Geographic GeoBee.
